For the second time in January, we found ourselves at a picnic in Houston. This time, the host was none other than the Houston chapter of Oldies Car Club. We arrived at Mason Park in Houston’s Southeast side nice and early to ensure we found parking. The area at Mason Park where the picnics usually take place is not nearly as large as the area at MacGregor Park. This year marked the 15th Anniversary of Oldies Car Club in Houston and the club went all out for the entire weekend including hosting a dinner and dance on Saturday night with Tejano music legend Ruben Ramos headlining the event.
As expected, it didn’t take long for the park to overflow with a who’s who in the Houston lowrider scene. The music setting the soundtrack for this event was being mixed by DJ O.G. Volo while BBQ pits were smoking throughout the park. Again, the city was fortunate to get picturesque weather for the day since there was rain in the forecast for the days surrounding the event. We could go on and on about the many bad ass rides that attended the event, but, we’ll just let you look through this supersized gallery of images so you can see for yourself. Big thanks to Chuco Ramirez and Oldies Car Club in Houston for hosting the event.
