Christi Rose – Car Show Hotties

February 14, 2020

If you’ve followed StreetSeen Magazine for any given amount of time, then you certainly know Christi Rose. The “original” StreetSeen Girl, Christi has been with us since our very first event back in June of 2007. That would have been a very wet and messy Texas Showdown at the Sam Houston Race Park in Houston, Texas. Being an unknown, unproven, and unprinted publication at the time, we couldn’t believe a girl with the perfect curves that we first contacted on a modeling networking site would agree to work a very hot and sticky show with us. Not only did she show up on time and ready to work, but she rocked it. Her personality was perfect for the car and truck show scene, which was a relief for us because many of the girls who were into modeling at the time had a diva complex. Not Christi. She’s tough as nails, kick ass, funny, and fine as fuck. She’s a trooper. Some blazing hot ass weather and a bad case of swamp ass never scared her away from Read More...

Greengo Money – 1964 Chevy SS Impala

February 8, 2020

There are many project vehicles sitting in garages across the country right now, just waiting for the day to be completed. Many sit for years before being finished and some never get finished at all. This is a story of one such vehicle. Mike “Droopy” Lopez of Latin Kustoms Car Club in Pasadena, Texas, came into this 1964 Chevy Impala Super Sport back in 2011. He had done a lot of work to it in the time that he owned it, but all of that work came in the first two years. The brand new PPG Sour Apple Pearl paint job is the one the car still has to this day. Droopy had roof patterns painted by Michael “Sic” Cato of Sic Studios in Pasadena, Texas. The exterior paint was completed with murals wrapping around the sides by Verrick Falcón of Enhanced Air in Pasadena, Texas, which included the Impala’s new name – Greengo Money. In 2013, Droopy stopped work on the ’64 and put it in storage. And there it would sit, untouched, for four long years Read More...

Oldies Car Club Picnic 2020

February 1, 2020

For the second time in January, we found ourselves at a picnic in Houston. This time, the host was none other than the Houston chapter of Oldies Car Club. We arrived at Mason Park in Houston’s Southeast side nice and early to ensure we found parking. The area at Mason Park where the picnics usually take place is not nearly as large as the area at MacGregor Park. This year marked the 15th Anniversary of Oldies Car Club in Houston and the club went all out for the entire weekend including hosting a dinner and dance on Saturday night with Tejano music legend Ruben Ramos headlining the event. Oldies Car Club – Houston, TX – The hosts of this picnic. As expected, it didn’t take long for the park to overflow with a who’s who in the Houston lowrider scene. The music setting the soundtrack for this event was being mixed by DJ O.G. Volo while BBQ pits were smoking throughout the park. Again, the city was fortunate to get picturesque weather for the day since Read More...

Redrum – 1984 Buick Regal

January 25, 2020

James Hinojosa of Houston, Texas, was introduced to lowriding at a very young age. “My father took me to an indoor lowrider show when I was 5,” he said, “I was fascinated by the style, colors, exotic interiors, and the unique paint jobs.” You could say from that minute on, he was hooked. The current Vice President of Still Rollin Car Club had the opportunity to finally buy his first custom ride when he was 19. “A Buick Regal on Roadsters was my first lowrider. That was in 1995,” James said. He owned that car for three years before it disappeared. “It was stolen and never recovered,” he said. It would be twenty years later before James got back into the lowriding game with this 1984 Regal. “I bought the car from my neighbor in 2015,” James said, “It was all original with only 28K miles.” You now may be thinking that James has a thing for Regals and you’d be right. “Buick Regal has always been my Read More...

Houston Lowriders New Year’s Picnic 2020

January 18, 2020

GoodTimes Houston front end line up For the last 14 years, the lowriding community of Houston, Texas, has come together on the first Sunday of the year for a day full of custom rides, friends, sun, and food. The date this year was January 5th. “This event began back in 2006 when the HLC first hosted the event,” said Armando “Goofy” Hernandez, Club Coordinator for Rollerz Only Houston Chapter and original founder of the Houston Lowrider Council. The HLC held the picnic annually until the council dissolved in 2012. In 2013, the four Houston area chapters of Rollerz Only hosted the event in hopes of making it an annual Rollerz event. “We took it upon ourselves to host the picnic,” said Jose Martinez, President of Rollerz Only, Gulf Coast Chapter, “Houston, Gulf Coast, Galveston, and then Eagle Lake chapters.” Rollerz wanted to elevate the excitement of the picnic. “We did games, contests, and trophies that year,” said Martinez. Nikki Love – Car Show Hotties

January 17, 2020

Our time with the sexy Nikki Love has been pretty brief up to this point, but it also has been pretty fruitful. Though we flirted around for a couple of years through social media, we finally had a chance to work with her on a feature in the Dallas area with Kingz Car Club for Vol. 34 of StreetSeen Magazine. There, she shot with Pancho Martinez’s 2003 Chevy Avalanche named “La BurBerry”. Her work ethic on that shoot was impeccable and her personality was compatible to ours. We knew immediately that we had to work with her again. That opportunity came with the 2015 Texas Heatwave in Austin. There, she was a crowd favorite with many show participants asking her to pose with their rides for pictures. This Puerto Rican Hottie hails from the great city of San Antonio. If you’re keeping track at home, that’s a total of three Hotties we’ve featured recently from the Alamo City. This particular San Antonio Hottie was able to land the cover of Car Show Read More...

La Wawa – 1964 Chevy SS Impala Wagon

January 11, 2020

Some of you may have read the title to this article and said to yourselves, “GM never made a 64 Impala super sport wagon,” and you’d be 100% correct. That fact, however, didn’t stop Joe Meza of Houston, Texas, from making it a reality. The Vice President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of Rollerz Only Car Club wanted to build a wagon in memory of a wagon his mother used to own when he was a child. She often referred to her wagon as “La Wawa”. A simple wagon build, however, just wouldn’t do. Meza, as he’s known to his friends, was going to undertake building a vehicle that didn’t exist. Meza had been building lowriders for years. His first lowrider was a 1964 Chevy Impala SS. “I’ve been building since the age of 18; everything from Cadillacs to Impalas,” he said. This wagon entered Joe’s life back in 2013. In just the year before, Meza had completed three builds. “That year I came out really hard,” Read More...

Club Spotlight – JuiceD Car Club

January 4, 2020

If you’ve been in the Houston lowrider scene for any length of time, then you’ve definitely seen them at many of the local car shows and picnics. Though the faces have changed over their many years of existence, the name remains the same – JuiceD Car Club (Pronounced Juiced, not Juice D). The club was formed by four friends on Houston’s North and East sides back in the summer of 1994 who were looking for a change from the clubs they had been in previously. The name for their new club was clear to them. Since they all had hydraulics in their rides, like most low lows at the time, they would name this new club JuiceD. A trip to the neighborhood airbrush artist to do up some T-shirts and the boys were officially in business! Within the first five years, JuiceD grew to five chapters. They added Baytown, Pasadena, Conroe, and San Antonio to their ranks. As times and trends changed, so did the club and its membership. These days, the club is one chapter with a solid Read More...

Megan Kan – Car Show Hotties

January 3, 2020

We often referred to her as our Germanese Hottie. Half German, half Chinese, Megan Kan had the perfect look to model for us. She worked at several car shows over the last few years and has appeared in several volumes of StreetSeen Magazine. This San Antonio hottie appeared on the September 2012 cover of StreetSeen Magazine and had a very steamy layout in Car Show Hotties Volume 3. Though we first met her online a few months before, our first meeting in person would be at the 2011 San Antonio Heatwave. Since then, she quickly became one of our go to girls for many events. She’s intelligent, articulate, and let’s be honest, very easy on the eyes. StreetSeen Magazine definitely pushed her to her limits when it came to comfort. She had never worn a G-string bikini for any public modeling jobs before us, and we’re pretty sure not any after either. Her first show with us would be the Torres Empire Car Show back in 2011. Then, she carried a very nervous smile the entire Read More...
